Fun fact : Dash orginally forked from Litecoin code-base and then developed their own instamine (a much larger instamine then Litecoin).

Founder of Litecoin publicly admitted this instamine / fastmine of Litecoin, two years ago :

”It’s well known that Litecoin was fast mined in the first few days as the amount of people and hashrate was more than I thought there would be. But the launch was extremely fair. Source code and binaries for all win/Linux/Mac were released days before launch. And launch time was voted by the community. At launch, thousands of people jumped in and fast mined a lot of coins, but that amount is less than 1% of the total supply today. And because it was launched fairly, everyone had an equal chance to mine those coins.

This issue was never a big deal and most people forgot about it because it was 8 years ago!”

It is funny how this according the founder of Litecoin has never been a big deal for Litecoin and how most people forgot about it because it was 8 years ago, while Dash to this very day is either getting constantly mislabeled as a premine or is still getting attacked for its instamine history.
